Not Your Average Activity Book provides themed, cross-curricular learning experiences that take into consideration various learning modalities (visual, auditory, kinesthetic and tactile elements). With every page designed to balance fun and critical thinking, this is unlike any activity book you have used before. Not Your Average Activity Books take into account Piagetian cognitive development theory, which supports sensory learning from ages 0-2, concepts and symbols from ages 2-7, concrete and logic from ages 7-12, and abstract and hypotheticals from ages 13 on.
Each page sets an age-appropriate learning goal and provides clear directions for learners to follow. There are layers of learning activities, games, and scavenger hunts, as well as content-specific lessons. Learners will practice math and reading fluency, history and science lessons, and will enjoy brain breaks such as paper-folding shape challenges, mazes, maps, jokes, mad-libs and riddles.
